Title of the Talk/Lab :
Santhosh Kumar R is currently a Project Research Scientist-I at the Cachar Cancer Hospital & Research Centre (CCHRC), Silchar, where he is involved in an ICMR-funded project investigating the molecular mechanisms of early-onset colorectal cancer in the Indian population through multi-omics approaches. He is also pursuing his PhD at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar, focusing on biomarker discovery and risk stratification of Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma among long-term tobacco users, particularly in populations from Northeast India.
Prior to joining CCHRC, he was associated with Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore, where he contributed to large-scale clinical and epidemiological studies in infectious diseases and nephrology. His responsibilities included patient recruitment, clinical data management, biospecimen processing, and coordination of multicentre research studies, contributing to international collaborative research published in leading peer-reviewed journals. His research interests encompass molecular oncology, cancer biomarkers, multi-omics analysis, cancer-associated microbiome, molecular diagnostics, and translational cancer research, with a strong emphasis on region-specific cancer biology and population-relevant precision medicine.”
