This Continuing Medical Education and Public Outreach Program was organized by ACTREC, Tata Memorial Centre, jointly with the Indian Immunology Society and Mumbai Immunology Group.
The program was conducted as part of the celebration of International Day of Immunology under the theme “Immunology in Health & Disease – Coupling Ayurveda with Life Sciences.”
It focused on increasing awareness about the integration of immunology with Ayurveda for better healthcare and included discussions related to cancer, infectious diseases and autoimmune diseases.
The scientific program covered basics of immunology, autoimmune cytopenia, inborn errors of immunity, leukemia and lymphoma immunophenotyping and other immunology-related topics.
Participants also had opportunities for laboratory visits and demonstrations of immune-modulatory testing, assays and preclinical experiments for herbal drug development.
The event was intended for students, postdocs, teachers, academicians, clinicians, clinician-scientists and participants from Ayurveda, health sciences and life sciences
